Fred Stoddard is University Lecturer and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Helsinki in Finland.
He has worked on agronomy, physiology, quality and especially breeding of grain legumes in Canada (briefly), the UK (PhD at the then Plant Breeding Institute, Cambridge), Australia (Universities of Adelaide and Sydney) and Finland.
His main crop is faba bean and he has worked with pea, lentil, chickpea, narrow-leafed lupin and white lupin. He participated in EU-Faba (FP5) and was on the final Scientific Committee of AEP.
He runs a work package in FP7 Legume Futures and is involved in many national and continental initiatives on legumes.
